The trek to the Valley of Flowers typically starts from the base village of Govindghat. It’s about a 42 kilometer trek one way, passing through diverse terrain, including dense forests, alpine meadows, and glacier-fed streams. The trail offers panoramic views of the Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi.
The Valley of Flowers is a mesmerizing alpine valley adorned with a vast carpet of colorful flowers. Spread over an area of approximately 87.5 square kilometers, the valley blooms with a variety of endemic and rare flowers during the monsoon season, creating a breathtaking sight for visitors.

It is a 6 Days and 5 Nights Trek starting from Govindghat to Govindghat.

You can keep extra luggage in the base village for any particular trek. There are no cloak roo charges applicable. Its free of cost.
If you are going on a trek don’t expect mobile signals. There are few spots on the trails of few treks where you might find a single tower or something but it always depends if that is enough to make a call or not.
We use portable toilet tents for sanitation needs, as permanent structures may not available. These are dry toilets, so please bring wet wipes or tissue paper for personal hygiene.
For this trek you just need a day bag to carry during the trek, extra luggage can be left behind at the camp site. Proper bedded swiss tents are available on this trek.
Start running/walking at least 3-4 Kms everyday.
If it’s a snow trek a good trekking shoe is mandatory. If you buy a new shoe do walk for few days so that it fits you well and doesn’t leave you with blisters while you trek. If it is a summer trek or post monsoon trek a shoe with good grip and ankle support will do
It’s a strict no. If you fall sick during the trek due to alcohol consumption H2H has the right to cancel your trek and send you back to base village. No expenses shall be refunded in that case and you will have to pay additional for stay at base village.
On Day 1, you will drive from Rishikesh to Pipalkoti, which is located at an altitude of 1,340 meters (4,400 ft). The drive covers 200 km and will take around 9-10 hours. This long journey takes you through scenic landscapes of the Garhwal region, setting the stage for the adventure ahead.
On Day 2, you will drive from Pipalkoti to Govindghat, covering 52 km in about 2 hours. From Govindghat, you will take local transport to Pulna (4 km, 15 minutes). The trek begins from Pulna, leading to Ghangaria at 3,000 meters (9,800 ft), covering 9 km in approximately 4 hours. Ghangaria is a small village and serves as the base for the Valley of Flowers trek.
Day 3 is dedicated to trekking to the Valley of Flowers, located at 3,500 meters (11,500 ft). This breathtaking valley is known for its diverse range of alpine flowers. You will trek 4 km each way, with the entire trek taking around 7 hours. Notable flowers you may encounter include the Blue Poppy, Snake Foil, Himalayan Rose, and Meadow Geranium.
On Day 4, you will trek from Ghangaria to Hemkund Sahib, a sacred Sikh pilgrimage site located at an altitude of 4,300 meters (14,100 ft). The trek covers 6 km each way and takes about 8-9 hours. Hemkund Sahib is known for its stunning high-altitude lake and spiritual significance.
Day 5 involves trekking back from Ghangaria to Pulna, covering 9 km in 4-5 hours. From Pulna, you will drive back to Govindghat (4 km, 15 minutes). If weather conditions permit and safety allows, you may proceed to Badrinath, a famous pilgrimage site, covering 25 km in about 1 hour. After visiting Badrinath, you will drive to Pipalkoti, which is 75 km away, a journey of 3-4 hours. In case of landslide or weather issues, Badrinath will be skipped, and you’ll drive directly to Pipalkoti.
On Day 6, the final leg of your journey takes you from Pipalkoti back to Rishikesh. The drive covers 200 km and takes about 9-10 hours, bringing your trek to a close.

Ensure you carry these medicines with you, easily accessible always. Remember not to take any medicine unless you have consulted your trek leader.
1. Diamox (1 Strip): An essential part of Live Saving Drugs, Diamox helps reduce the chances of Acute Mountain Sickness on the trek.
2. Dolo 650 (5 tablets): A paracetamol that tackles fever and mild pain.
3. Avomine (4 tablets): If you are prone to motion sickness, carry Avomine. Take one-half hour before the start of your road journey.
4. Combiflam (5 tablets): Useful for sudden twists or muscle strains. Combiflam is a pain reliever containing paracetamol.
5. Digene (4 tablets): Take it if you feel the food, you’ve consumed is undigested. Alert your trek leader immediately, as it could be a sign of AMS.
6. ORS (6 packs): Consume an ORS pack at least once a day, usually mid-day during your trek. It replenishes essential salts lost while trekking. Tip: It also makes cold water easier to drink.
7. Knee Brace (optional): Carry this if you are prone to knee injury or have known issues of knee pain.
